BI bans American wife beater

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has banned from entering the country an American for maltreating and abusing his Filipina wife.

Commissioner Marcelino Libanan issued an order last April 30 placing Timothy Kent Boggess, 42, in the immigration blacklist of undesirable aliens.

The blacklist order was issued at the request of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) which informed him about the complaint that Boggess’ wife had filed against her husband.

Libanan said Boggess, who lives in Florissant, Missouri, should be banned from re-entering the country to prevent him from victimizing other Filipino women.

In her affidavit, the victim requested that her husband be banned for causing her physical and emotional abuse.

She also said her estranged foreign husband has been hooked on drugs and pornography and that he cheated her by having affair with another woman after they got married.

A copy of an offense report from the Florissant police department which the victim submitted showed that her husband allegedly assaulted her at their home on Nov. 23 last year.

She recounted that she suffered bruises on her ankle after her husband dragged her out of the computer room for using his computer without permission.
The DFA said it has issued circular directing all Philippine posts abroad not to issue any visa in favor of Boggess.
“It is also for the protection of young Filipinas that may become his victim if he is allowed entry into the country,” DFA Asst. Secretary Domingo Lucenario Jr. said in his letter to Libanan. (BI News)
