BI deports Yakuza wanted for faking passports
The Bureau of Immigration deported a Japanese national wanted in his country for faking passports and for being a ranking member of the dreaded ‘Yakuza’ gang syndicate.
Deported on the strength of the summary deportation order issued by BI Board of Commissioners was Tsuyoshi Yuki, 44 years old.
Yuki was arrested by members of the BI-Law Enforcement Division (LED) last June 23 in Barangay Magang. Daet, Camarines Norte after the bureau received a report from the Japanese embassy that the suspect has a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Tokyo Summary Court.
Atty, Antonio Rivera, head of the BI-Deportation Unit, said in his report to Commissioner Nonoy Libanan that Yuki was deported Thursday afternoon aboard a Japan Airlines bound to Chiba, Japan.
Libanan commended the bureau’s law enforcement and the deportation units for their swift actions in apprehending and deporting the Japanese national.
“This will serve as a stern warning to all foreign fugitives that the Philippines is not a haven for aliens wanted in their own country,” Libanan said as he congratulated his men for a job well done.
Rivera, who is also the deputy chief for operations of the BI-Intepol unit added that Yuki was wanted for violating the Japanese Passport Law by manufacturing, selling and distributing fake passport to his countrymen who are also fugitive from justice.
“We received reports from Japanese police who escorted the suspect that aside from being a ‘fake passport king in Japan,’ Yuki is also a ranking official of the dreaded Yakuza gang syndicate that is using the country as their base of operation,” Rivera revealed.
Yuki was also placed in the immigration blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines.
Records showed that the Japanese national entered the country as visitor in April 2008 and was allowed to stay temporarily until June 2008.
However, Yuki never bothered to renew his tourist visa, thus he was declared as an overstaying alien. (BI News)
